Power Supply Block

Power Supply Block

The Power Supply Block comes in 110V and 220V versions. It has been revised several times. Please refer to the following table to find the original version for a particular model.

Electrically, the older versions are -0205 and -0206. Versions -0656 and -0657 have gray plastic instead of black for the power switch and power cord inlet, but the difference is only cosmetic. If you are not concerned about color, all versions are interchangeable, but need to be matched to the 24 volt fan that sits atop it. Fans

There are three part numbers for the 24 volt fan: RH7-1047-030, RH7-1074-030, and RH7-1122-000. The RH7-1047-030 is the original version and must be employed with Power Supply Block part number RG9-0205-000. This fan uses 2.4 watts. DO NOT use the older Power Supply Block (RG9-0205) with the newer fans (RH7-1074 or RH7-1122) or the newer Power Supply Blocks (RG9-0319, RG9-0656, or RG9-0749) with the older fan (RH7-1047)!

The newer fans (RH7-1074 and RH7-1122) use slightly more power (about 3 watts) and moves more air to improve cooling for printers that have large internal printer controllers. They run at a low speed all the time, and kick into high gear when printing. The squirrelcage-type fan RH7-1074 also has an improved bushing for greater efficiency and longer life, but has been largely supplanted by the revised, box-type fan, RH7-1122.

Worn out fans are often blamed for Fixing Assembly failures, since they do not provide enough air circulation to keep the gear drives cool. Excessive heat around the Fixing Assembly causes the plastic parts to soften and wear out faster than normal.
