All Canon LX-based printers from HP, Canon and others can have this optional lower cassette feeder attached to add a second input source of 250 sheet capacity. Additional optional cassette trays are available for certain fixed sizes of paper or envelopes.
This popular accessory also allows the operator to reduce the amount of space required to operate the printer, as the Multi-Purpose Tray can be closed up saving a considerable amount of desktop or office work area.
The HP and Canon versions are colored slightly differently, but they are mechanically interchangeable. The removable trays also come in slightly different colors, but they too are mechanically interchangeable. Clones of this entire accessory and its trays were also manufactured.
