HP LaserJet Control Panel Assemblies

The HP control panel assemblies are based on two different PCBAs and four different overlays.The original LaserJet PCBA was part number SG4-6103, which was revised to SG4-6104. The original LaserJet PCBA was part SG4-6121, which was revised to SG4-6122.

Canon LBP-8 A1 and A2 Control Panel Assemblies

The Canon control panel is somewhat similar to the HP model, as Canon designed and built both of them; but the layout and number of buttons is quite different. It is not possible to change overlays and use a Canon control panel with an HP formatter.

QMS Control Panel Assemblies

QMS created custom control panel assemblies for the SmartWriter, LaserGrafix and KISS printers. These control panels are shown in the pictures to the left. Phillips put its own label over the QMS panel. The old version on the left was replaced with the version on the right. Ultimately, all KISS and SmartWriters used the same "generic" keypad, which was Part Number 2905124B.

Apple LaserWriter Display Panel Assembly

Five-LED Display Panel Assembly

The Canon five LED display assembly was used in both the OEM CX and CXD external video versions. QMS used this assembly with various overlays to create custom panels for the PS-800, PS-800+, PS-800 II, PS-Jet, and PS-Jet+. LaserSmith cloned this assembly for attachment to painted versions of the Federal Express cover set. The Printer Works used both the original Canon assembly and the LaserSmith assembly for the JetScript-CX, as did U.S. Laser and CRA Systems for various other limited production models. These assemblies are supplied with cable attached.
